Brush Brush Brush Your Teeth

Who knew brushing our teeth could be so much fun? Today's inquiry was all about our teeth.

  • What are they made of?
  • What's inside them?
  • Why are they hard?
  • What do we use them for?
  • What does a hole mean?
Let the inquiry begin!

First things first, Preschool practiced brushing teeth using the big toothbrush and model teeth:
1) brush the outside of your top and bottom teeth
2) brush the inside of your top and bottom teeth
3) put your teeth together and brush up, down, and all around
4) don't forget to brush your tongue before rinsing out your mouth

Our inquiry brought us in many directions and Preschool was able to find answers to their many questions by: reading the book I Know why I Brush my Teeth, opening their mouths wide and looking at their friend's teeth, playing with the big tooth model and finally by brushing their own teeth.

To conclude our lesson, we started learning a new song! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Brush, Brush, Brush Your Teeth (Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)

Brush, brush, brush your teeth.
At least two times a day.
Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning,
Fighting tooth decay.
Floss, floss, floss your teeth.
Every single day.
Gently, gently, gently,gently,
Whisking Plaque away.

Open wide!
Practice makes perfect
